Journal Entry: April, 2005; 13 days to Nationals

Well the time is almost here and I have to say it has been a great journey. It has not been an easy process as it never is. All things worth doing are always hard work.

I will be presenting my self in the best physical condition that I have ever brought to the stage. I will also be presenting an entirely different hair, makeup, posing and suit package. I am so excited.

I had my hair extensions put in on Friday and they look great. I can’t believe how much they affect your overall appearance, but they are a fabulous compliment to the rest of my hard work.

My suits came from Ceejay on Wednesday and they are stunning. I cannot wait to wear them on contest day. Thank you so much Ceejay! Your work is amazing!

I have been diligently perfecting small details in my posing, positioning on stage. It is amazing what a video camera can pick up. Thank you Rose for all your help here! It means so much.

I also had Laura Binetti take a look at me this year every few weeks just to have her feedback. Thank you Laura. Your feedback is so appreciated!!

Well I am at it here I would also like to thank a few other people. Thank you, Thank you Kary Odiatu for your help with my makeup. I think the tips you picked up from Elaine Goodlad will be very handy to me.

Thank you to my good friend John for putting me through two sessions a week of weekly massage torture for my back and shoulder. I am so grateful and I am relatively pain free for my show.

Thank you to my good friend Aristea, IFBB Figure Pro for all your friendship. You are an amazing friend and I always love our daily banter.

Thank you to Garth, who has been a great friend. You always encourage me to be the best! You are a wild and crazy guy!

Thank you to Stephanie Worsfold and Martha Lombardo-Grant. Although you are long distance friends, your support means a lot to me.

I would also like to say a very important thank you to my boyfriend Clarence. I know this is never an easy road for you since you have barely seen me for 11 weeks. Your love and support are invaluable to me. Thank you and I love you so much!

Thank you to all my clients. You all inspire me with your daily dedication. Good luck this year to all of you.

Last, but not least I would like to thank all the other amazing people in my life. Getting ready for a show is never easy. I might put the work in, but it is the support and positive energy from every one in my life that really makes me feel that I can do any thing. I love all of you!!!!

I am truly blessed to have you all in my life!

Now that I completed the emotional part of my entry, now it is time to get back to business before I get too weepy here!!!

This week is my last full official week of training. It will be business as usual with that. I am watching my cardio now as not to be too lean.

I had no idea that my legs could look as good as they do. I have created better lines, a smaller waist, less muscle thickness in my back with a great V-taper. Oh and my butt is lifted!!!! Yay!!!! I have lost the muscle thickness from my fitness days and revealed a nice feminine figure package.

I will finish my last training on Wednesday before the show and it will be a whole body workout.

This week will also involve increasing mental imagery right up to my show.. I always visualize my performance. This is critical to my success as an athlete.

It is really great because you can get so good at it that you can even feel the lights shining down on you and hear the hustle in the audience as I go through my quarter turns.

I also like to use motivating and inspiring movies as my show draws near. I have been listening to the gladiator soundtrack, the rocky soundtrack and I love to watch the Gladiator before my shows. It just gets me pumped.

I have a photo shoot on the 21st in Toronto. This is always the fun part. I love showcasing all the efforts.

I arrive in Winnipeg around 10:30 am on Friday morning and I have shoot scheduled for the afternoon. Our athletes meeting is at 6pm on Friday to go over show details etc.

Then it show time on Saturday! It is always great to see everyone and it such an honor to be competing with the best in Canada. I have given my all for the show and now it is up to the judges to decide. I work so hard for that one magical moment of stepping on stage!

Good luck to every one at the show and I look forward to seeing all of you!!!
